River Trent Boat Cruise 2010
Boat Trip Review Sunday 4th July 2010, 11th Anniversary – Nottingham Branch
July 4th 2010 saw the arrival of a boatload of cowboys and cowgirls ready for happy hour. The trip consisted of a cruise up the River Trent, and a hot buffet meal with 2 spit roast meats, the famous raffle and music and dancing.
Pete Greaves reports that his annual boat trip is not showing any signs of sinking, for
the 11th year running it was another full boat onboard The Nottingham Princess for a
3 hour cruise down the River Trent.
Pete’s wife Julija was unable to attend & arrange the raffle, however long running
attendees Jo, Prisca & Prisca’s mum did an excellent job in selling all the raffle
tickets, it does help when people contribute such excellent prizes.
As the photos show this year’s theme was well supported as Cowboys & Cowgirls, a
special prize was awarded to Cowgirls Jane & Jade for their special Saloon dress.
As usual the food onboard the Nottingham Princess was up their usual top standard,
consisting of a 3 meat buffet style with all the trimmings.
Chairman Eddie Pollard was to control the well donated raffle, quickly followed by
the resident DJ to which dancing is almost compulsory on the way back into port.
The corporate donations were made by T C Harrison JCB, Steelphalt, Maxwell
Building Group, Tanbury Builders, Lambert Car Sales, AB Components, County
Battery Services & Fish Construction plus all individual donations.
Pete certainly knows how to pick the weather, he has even booked another sunny day
for the next boat trip Sunday 10th July 2011.
All newcomers said ‘Why have we not heard about this before’, ‘Put our names down
for next year’, if you fancy a good relaxed day out with good company & excellent
food make a note in your diary, invite your family & friends, there is a reduction for
children. It’s sure to be another sell out, for details contact Pete 01623 458354
